Since 2016, LexiFi Apropos has enabled users to import term sheets directly into the platform, significantly streamlining the structured product booking process. Our PDF Importer has successfully processed tens of thousands of unique term sheets since its initial launch, helping users reduce manual data entry and operational risk.
During these 10 years, we have continuously enhanced the importer, refining it through real-world usage, learning from both its own errors and inconsistencies in term sheets themselves.
LexiFi released recently a revamped version. This enhanced version includes cutting-edge AI technology, making it faster, smarter, and more adaptable than ever. The experience gained over the years associated to the many examples collected so far appeared essential in an efficient implementation of the IA driven solution.
Instead of relying on predefined rules and layouts, the new system leverages multi-modal AI models that process not only text but also tables and images (including mathematical formulas commonly found in structured product term sheets). This major upgrade ensures more accurate data extraction from a wide range of issuer documents, regardless of layout or complexity.
By understanding financial contracts in natural language, the AI-powered importer automatically recognizes key characteristics, including complex and exotic payoffs, and seamlessly integrates them into our system for pricing, lifecycle management, and analysis. With built-in error detection and validation mechanisms, it ensures accuracy while significantly reducing operational risk.
✔ Minimal manual intervention → Speeds up structured product onboarding.
✔ Increased accuracy & reliability → Reduces operational risk from manual data entry errors.
✔ Scalability → Works with any term sheet, from any issuer, without manual configuration.
✔ Greater adaptability to financial language → No need to adjust rules manually when issuers change formats.
✔ Continuous improvements → We actively monitor the latest AI models and integrate innovations to keep the importer ahead of the curve.
✔ Advanced error detection → Helps catch inconsistencies before products are booked, preventing financial misinterpretations.
Beyond just AI, we’ve optimized every stage of the import process:
We actively evaluate and integrate the latest AI advancements, working with multiple model providers to ensure the highest level of performance and flexibility. Our commitment to continuous investment in AI research means the importer keeps improving, adapting to new term sheet formats and financial product structures.
A key new capability is the ability to detect errors directly in term sheets. In some cases, the AI identifies inconsistencies in payoff definitions or missing conditions that could lead to misinterpretations.
1. Document ingestion
2. AI-Based text recognition & parsing
3. Context-aware extraction & normalization
4. Error handling & control mechanisms
💡We actively monitor import warnings and errors, tracking them to improve the system continuously. Each flagged issue provides valuable insights that help us refine extraction accuracy, enhance formula recognition, and expand coverage across different term sheet variations.
5. Seamless integration into LexiFi Apropos
💡Watch the demo below for more details on how to import a new contract in LexiFi Apropos.
The contract input dashboard in LexiFi Web is being redesigned to offer greater flexibility and efficiency. Soon, you will be able to import multiple contracts at once and perform a range of actions seamlessly.
Key improvements:
These updates are just the beginning - more enhancements are on the way to further improve contract management and usability.
We encourage you to carefully review extracted data and share any feedback on discrepancies. Your input not only helps us refine the system but also ensures that those who contribute benefit from continuous improvements, leading to an even more seamless and tailored experience in structured product automation.
⚠️ While the AI-powered importer significantly improves efficiency and accuracy, the process remains heuristic-based, and a 100% success rate cannot be guaranteed - if only because term sheets themselves sometimes contain inconsistencies or errors. It is the user’s responsibility to check correctness of the instrument parameters before further use inside LexiFi’s software solution.
