Streamlining Structured Products integration with Connexor.

Hi all,

Structured products’ management requires accurate information to capture precisely the product’s terms, comply with regulatory requirements and facilitate trading.

To standardize this information, the market uses diverse electronic file formats. One of them is the IBT (Internet Based Terms) format:

  • Connexor, provided by SIX Swiss Exchange, is a central hub where issuers publish detailed product specifications in standardized formats.
  • IBT files contain essential terms and payoff descriptions that allow structured products to be modeled and processed efficiently.
  • Accessing and interpreting this data correctly allows fast and compliant product onboarding.

While Connexor provides a powerful framework, setting up subscriptions, retrieving files, and integrating them into internal systems often requires dedicated time and coordination.

Where complexity slows you down

Without automation, managing structured products means dealing with manual workflows, scattered files, and IT overhead.

Managing Connexor subscriptions, IBT file retrieval, and data validation involves multiple steps - which can benefit greatly from automation to support operational efficiency.

LexiFi’s solution: fully automated Connexor integration

At LexiFi, we believe complexity of product parameters capture should disappear, when reliable standard formats are available. We have therefore developed a seamless integration with Connexor to simplify the booking of structured products:

  • One ISIN. One Action Enter an ISIN in our platform - we automatically connect to Connexor, retrieve the corresponding IBT file, and populate your system based on pre-defined mappings.

  • Instant product booking if the payoff is supported by our automatic mapper, the system can instantly create the booking, reducing onboarding time from hours or days to minutes.
  • Built-in mapping capabilities LexiFi’s platform already includes automatic mapping for a wide range of standard payoffs based on IBT data. However:
    • If a product’s details are incomplete or not yet published by the issuer in Connexor, booking will not be possible.
    • In such cases, the mapping must be extended, or the issuer must correct and update the published information.

  • No infrastructure required You don’t need to maintain a Connexor subscription or build an internal API connection, LexiFi handles the entire technical setup behind the scene.

  • Guaranteed compliance Full alignment with Connexor standards ensures that your structured product documentation meets regulatory and market requirements.

Why it matters

  • Operational Efficiency: Automate a previously manual, error-prone process.
  • Reduced IT Load: No more custom Connexor integration or API management.
  • Faster Go-to-Market: Book products instantly when standard data is available.
  • Compliance Peace of Mind: Meet market requirements effortlessly.

“The Connexor integration has been a valuable enhancement to the LexiFi platform. It streamlined our workflow by removing manual steps and significantly reduced booking errors. Having a direct, automated connection to issuer data through Connexor has made onboarding structured products faster and more reliable for our team.”
Benjamin Bilard, Structured Product Specialist - ALM, Treasury & Investment Products, Swissquote.

⚠️Points of attention

  • The retrieval and booking process dependd on the availability and completeness of the information the issuer has published on Connexor.
  • If the product is not available or data is incomplete, manual intervention is required to update mappings or request corrections from the issuer.
  • A discrepancy between official final term sheet and published IBT definition can of course not be captured by LexiFi’s tool.
  • LexiFi has mapped a finite list of payoffs and will increase this mapping coverage over time.
